Solar power for businesses in Kenya

For a business, the bill is only half of it. Every hour without power is an hour of lost trade. A solar system with battery storage cuts the bill and keeps you open through outages, and businesses that trade in daylight see the fastest payback of all.

Why solar pays back fastest for businesses

  • Daytime use. Shops, salons, workshops, offices and carwashes use most of their power while the sun is up, so it comes straight off the panels rather than through the battery.
  • Bigger bills. The larger the bill a system replaces, the faster it pays back. Our standard systems pay back in about two to three years on cash.
  • Uptime. The inverter switches to the battery instantly when the grid drops. Card machines, clippers, freezers and lights keep working, with no generator, fuel or noise.

Worked examples

We are a new company and we do not invent customers. These are worked examples from our own engineering model, the same maths as our calculator, not completed jobs.

Larger and multi-site projects

Our four standard systems run from 5 to 15 kWh. For larger loads, landlords and businesses with several premises, our consultancy service starts with an energy audit and load profile, models the payback and financing on your own numbers, and can write a specification if you prefer to tender the work.

Paying for it

Businesses can pay cash or use our in-house financing over 12, 24 or 36 months, with no bank and no collateral beyond the system. The aim is a monthly payment no higher than the bill it replaces. See the financing guide and our prices.

Keeping it running

Downtime costs a business more than a household, so our maintenance plans include two scheduled visits a year, an annual output report and priority callout.

Common questions

Is solar worth it for a small business in Kenya?

Usually yes, especially for businesses that use most of their power in daylight. Daytime use comes straight off the panels, and our standard systems pay back in about two to three years on cash, while also keeping the business running through outages.

Can solar run my business during a blackout?

Yes. A hybrid system with battery storage switches over instantly when the grid goes down, so lights, card machines and equipment keep running within the inverter's rating.

Do you install larger commercial solar systems?

Our standard systems run from 5 to 15 kWh. For larger or multi-site projects we start with an energy audit and load profile and design the system to your site.
